The problem with school.

School. The word itself brings about the emotion of horror to many a teenager. I, am one of them.
Ever since I was a tiny little toddler with a mass of curly hair, I've always loved school. From finger painting to GCSE's, I've always enjoyed it, like anything, it has had its bad days, but on the whole I've always enjoyed going to school.
Until now.
Back in June 2012, I was so excited for going into sixth form, no more maths or science. I chose the subjects. No more uniform. Much more freedom. Wrong.
I have never ever felt so depressed in my life. I hate school.
It isn't necessarily the lessons that I took which I hate (English Language, Media Studies, Performance and Philosophy) It's the rules.
Personally I feel as though we get no respect at my school. My stance on it is that, I CHOSE to come to this school to do my A-levels. I could've quite as easily gone to college or got myself an apprenticeship. Granted, I may not have received the quality of education I get at school, But I would certain to hell get a lot more freedom.
Sixth Form is supposed to educate you, both academically and not, for the future ahead. It's supposed to help prepare you for your time in uni. It doesn't.
  • At college and uni, you show up to lessons, only when you're needed. At school its compulsory to attend from 9am onwards (regardless of if your only lesson is at 2pm)
  • At college and uni, you can wear whatever you want. Whilst at school it's a strict dress code of colours grey, white and black, only white shoes, no patterns, no facial jewellery, no unnaturally coloured hair.

  • At school you aren't allowed coats indoors, to eat indoors, to have your mobile phones out, to talk in the sixth form study area, and quite frankly, I'm sick of it.

The school goes on about how independent we will be, and how you have your "independent study", how you'll "manage your time correctly" and how it "sets you up for your higher education choice". Does it hell.
We're spoon-fed like children and I certainly do not feel independent, especially when expected to take my leather jacket off upon walking from one entrance to an exit. It irritates me how the school expect us to give them respect when they give us none.
Speaking of respect the amount of teachers who cannot teach is appalling  There's one (no names mentioned, lets call him Mr A) who has taught me for a year and still cannot get my name right. It's disrespectful. Mr A  expect us to know all the answers to something he hasn't taught us, to then shout at us, until a pupil corrects him, then claim 'we should've known it anyway', without an apology to the class.
Personally I feel that respect is earned and it also goes both ways.
Sixth form hasn't encouraged my independence, nor has it prepared me for university. Instead it's made me resent my life and pray that the next year will be over.

Being "Socially Accepted".

What I don't understand is that in today's society it is not deemed "Socially acceptable" to be friends with a member of the opposite sex whilst in a relationship. Whether or not the relationship you're in is happy you're still the victim of scrutiny and speculation if heaven forbid you're seen even talking to a member of the opposite sex.
When was it decided that everyone else was allowed to conclude what's 'good' in a relationship or for a couple? Because, and called me old-fashioned, I feel as though those decisions should be made between the couple in question and that no one else should have their say in the matter (surely the couple whom the situation applies to would know what was best to do right?.)
Society today has become a circle of people judging one another, from petty things, such as ones hair colour, or bigger things such as relationships, ethnicity and culture. It doesn't seem right that the world we live in could achieve so much, yet first impressions or the tail end of a story can spark an infinite amount of rumours from those less educated.
Sorry about the rant, I just felt that certain things needed to be addressed.

Empties #1

For some reason, I have a huge amount of products that I've used up recently, i say recently, Really I mean about 2-3 months, Goodness knows why I've kept all the packaging instead of throwing it out, But what better excuse to write a blogpost on it.
So, Without further a do. Here it is...

Febreeze Caribbean  Paradise Room Freshener
I know, I know, You're going to think I'm weird. But honestly, I love this stuff. I literally go through bottles and bottles. It's my favourite scent in the whole entire world. I even got one of these for my birthday. You can judge me. I don't care. Just go smell it.

Soap And Glory Glam-A-Lot Body Spray

This is probably my signature scent really, I've repurchesed it so many times. It's not the most famous Soap & Glory scent, But it's by far my favourite in comparison to Mist You Madly. It smells kindof vannilery with a tiny bit of musk? (That may be completly wrong as I'm awful at describing scents.)

Superdrug Tea Tree Cleanser & Toner
I usually go for another cleanser, also by Superdrug, Same type of thing mind. This one however, I didn't massively rate. It didn't break me out or irritate my skin and it did it's job but didn't really make me go WOW! MY SKIN LOOKS GOOOOOOD!. I wouldn't repurchase this.

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair
This is a "Liquid silk express-repair-conditioner" and I would spray this in dry hair once it had been styled for as a shine spray almost. Now, This. Is. Incredible. This is the second time I've repurchased and I cannot find any more anywhere! So, if you're lucky enough to spot one, Buy it now! It left my gorgeously smooth and silky. I have natural curly hair and it really helped define the curls also.

Avon Advanced Techniques Dry Ends Serum
This is a really nice serum which I would use just after I'd washed my hair when It was wet as I think this would be too heavy for dry hair. It comes in a lovely glass bottles and a pump, isn't too runny either. Thumbs up Avon.

Charles Worthington Heat Defence Spray
I tend to buy the mini versions of heat defence spray Don't ask me why. But I ran out and after rummaging through my drawers (oo-er) i found this which I bought aggges ago. It's ok, I guess. I honestly don't have an opinion on this.

Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Straigtened Heat Defence Blow Dry Spray
Again, another mini version. This, I do have an opinion on however. I really like this product, especially (as this is what it's designed for) when I would straighten my hair. It is light, doesn't weigh my hair down and keeps my hair straight for longer.

 Directions Lilac Hair Dye

You may or may not know that I have a few different colours in my hair, have done for about 10 months now, and for a lot of that time I would use Directions hair dye. this colours in lilac. I still have a little left but i don't think I'm going to continue to dye my hair multi-colours as I want a bit of a change. I'll do a full blogpost on the Directions dye and what i prefer etc if you would like me to.

Maybelline Colossal Volume Cat Eyes Mascara
I am a huge mascara junkie, and this mascara I love. It's been well loved and treasured, hence the rubbed off packaging. This mascara is super volumising and lengthening too actually, which I wasn't expecting too much. I will probably repurchase this in the future.

Colourworks Mascara
I got this mascara in a little gift set of colourworks products for my birthday or Christmas or something, and never really gave it much thought. But recently my other mascara (see above) ran out, so I reached for this, not expecting much. Oh, How wrong I was. This is literally the best mascara I have used... And I've used a lot. This lengthens like crazy, volumises incredibly and separates your lashes, can be used alone or with multiple coats and will always create a false lash effect. Amazing.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfecter.
This, Is the never ending BB cream. I've had this since the very  eyer beginning of summer and It has only just ran out. This stuff is good, I liked it and for the price, lasts you forever! It gives a pretty decent coverage for a BB cream, not too sure about the whole 'Miracle Skin Perfecting' bit mind.

Neutrogena visibly Clear Rapidly Clear Spot Treatment.
I've sworn by this spot treatment for years now, And I think it's time for a change. It does work and is an incredible product, but i think my skins almost got used to this now, Does that even happen? So this shall be the last time I throw this out *sniff sniff* Unless I don't find a spot treatment as good as it.....

So, that is it everyone. My empties of the moment. i will probably have more of these coming. So i hope you like them.

Seven Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag.

1. Greed:  What is your most inexpensive beauty item?
My most expensive beauty item is my Mac Pro Longwear Foundation. This retails at £24, which, I will admit, is a lot. But I got my make- up done at Mac for prom and this was the foundation she used (It honestly does stay on for 15 hours!) and so I got it as a gift off my mum for my birthday.
I do only use this on special occasions mind.
Excuse the smudgy packaging. I'm shade NC25 by the way.
My most inexpensive beauty item is my MUA lipstick in Shade 12. (I have many MUA products which all retail the same price so I just picked one of random) This retails at £1! Yeah, That's right £1! It;s a beautiful red colour and is surprisingly good quality and very pigminted!

2 Wrath: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
The beauty product i have a love hate relationship with is very specific. The Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation.  This foundation I used for a long long time, However, I wass in the colour 100-Ivory (the lightest colour) and it was still too dark! I'm not the lightest girl either. The formula left streaks on my skin and was very heavy to wear. Sound horrendous? It wasn't. I only noticed this a good 8 months or so after using the product (I went through different tubes) and the coverage is phenomenal! If you have acne or a lot of discolouration in your skin you MUST give this a try!

Gluttony: What is your most delicious beauty product?
By 'Most delicious beauty product' you mean- The one that smells/tastes the nicest (although I'm not one to actually eat my make-up.) This has to go to my Gosh Cool Jam LipGloss. This smells like sweets and sugar and yumminess! Also one of my favourite lipglosses to date!

Sloth: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
The beauty product I neglect due to laziness is easily, PRIMER! I have quite a few lying around my make-up collection ,samples and things I've nicked off mates, I just can't be bothered. I never tend to wear my make-up for too long anyway, and If I want to, I use Mac Pro Longwear foundation anyway and that seems to do the job.

5. PrideWhat beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?
The beauty product which gives me the most self confidence is MASCARA! I have the most grotesque straight, blonde and short eyelashes, which need all the help they can get. Even just one coat of mascara instantly picks up my mood and makes me feel pretty!

6. Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
As everyone has already noted- This has absolutely nothing to do with beauty, But whatever. Personally, However 'clique' this may sound I do go for personality over looks, I like someone with a good sense of humour and generally someone who can put up with me- other things as well of course. But physically, I like nice eyes (or hair), tall, muscular and nice smile. That's it really. Not too much to ask? ;)

7 Envy: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Personally, this struck me as a rather odd and difficult question to ask/answer. Presuming they are talking about beauty products, well, I honestly couldn't answer. I'd be happy with any gift I recieved. The only thing I can think to say is that, if you're to buy me perfume, make sure I've personally told you I like it. As I'm very picky with scents. That's it. I'd be happy with the majority of beauty items given to me as a gift.

Sorry that I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with this tag but I wanted to blog and saw the tag and just went along for the ride.

Boots Tea-Tree and Witch Hazel Moisturiser Review

I'm all for one for trying out new beauty products, In fact,  I love it. I'd purchased this a while ago as I needed a moisturiser for a couple of weeks for some reason or other.
I have combination skin which is oily around the 'T' zone. Minus the 'T' part. Basically my chin, bridge of nose and centre of forehead. This moisturiser had applied to me by saying it was a "Shine control moisturiser".
I didn't like this when I first put it on, but thought I'd give it some time as moisturiser will not work with only one application. I used this twice a day as it states to for a good two months.
This moisturiser just made me MORE OILY! even on places where I wasn't oily before. It really dried any dry areas in my skin and left the flaky. Ewww.
I honestly do not know which skin-type this would suit possibly Normal skin.
The consistency is very very watery.
I'm not sure how much this product is but i think about the £2.99 mark? Boots have actually changed their packaging for this brand but here's the full collection
Overall I really, really didn't like this product and I will not be repurchasing.
Comment below on your thoughts of this moisturiser or what blog posts you would like to see.
